Mental health…
What is to be sane mentally?
There are a lot of misconceptions about what this term means.
We usually compare mental disease with craziness, with hallucinations, OCD…
But there are a lot of people that are not mentally healthy and don’t go aroung listening voices.
The World Health Organization (WHO) defined health in its broader sense in 1946 as
“a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
Big news: NOONE IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY.
What I’m gonna treat here there? SUFFERING.
EVERYBODY SUFFERS and it is OK, it’s part of life.
But what happens when that suffer interferes with your life in such a way that you are not able to carry out the life that you would like?
Then is not that ok, and we dont have to sit down and wait, we have the power to do something about it.
What i usually encounter is people who suffer, but do not believe it is serious enough to be taken seriously.
Maybe because society tell them so, “oh you can’t not suffer because of that, it’s stupid, there are people with bigger and real problems.”
Yeah probably there are people out there with those we consider “bigger problems”, but you know what? maybe they are happy.
So what matters here is suffering, each person is unique and feels and behaves in a concrete way, so why would all would suffer in the same way and because of the same cause?
What for you is a shitty problem can be a big deal for me and viceversa.
So lets bring out compasion, people suffer, lets help them and ourselves.
Ask yourself, not matter what the cause it, IS IT MAKING YOU SUFFER?
Yes? I tell you something YOUR SUFFERING IS VALID. Take it seriously.
Once you validate your suffering you can start searching for the cause and motives of why that it is affecting you in such a deep way.
Usually we found that the problem relies in our lack of skills to face what makes us suffer in an adaptative ways,
but that is not bad, you are fighting, you are doing what you know to do to relieve that pain, and somehow it works, GREAT JOB.
But what if I told you you can learn new ways to face it?
I’m not saying is magic, I’m not saying suffering will disapear, I’m saying maybe it can take less space of your life and time, maybe you can deal with it, maybe you can do something to bring down that giant that is sinking you.
You can get the control of your life back, and without that pain bringing you down you will be happier.
Here I will purpose tasks and techniques to get to know you and your pain better (knowledge its a big relief itself) and ways to deal with it and get better.
I invite you to participate in this lifestyle change movement.
Lets be happy!
Here comes the sun…
